A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file that teaches the agent a repeatable task: how to do it, in which steps and which files to use. Here are the most used ones, what each is for and how to install it in your tool.

The agent only loads a skill when the task calls for it, so you can have many without filling its context. Each tool keeps them in a different place; this is what its official documentation says.
Claude Code
Personal skills in ~/.claude/skills/<name>/SKILL.md (all your projects) or per project in .claude/skills/<name>/SKILL.md. They also arrive inside plugins.
Single skill: copy its folder (with SKILL.md inside) to the path above.
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
Plugin with skills: add the repo marketplace and install the plugin.
/plugin marketplace add owner/repo
/plugin install plugin@marketplace
If you create a new skills folder with a session open, run /reload-skills; after installing a plugin, run /reload-plugins.
At the project root: .agents/skills/<folder>/ (.agent/skills is still accepted). Global: ~/.gemini/config/skills/ in the app and IDE, and ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/ in the CLI.
By hand: create a folder with a SKILL.md; only the description is required and the name defaults to the folder name.
CLI: install a plugin from its marketplace name, a GitHub URL or a local path.
agy plugin install https://github.com/owner/repo
The docs do not describe a plugin command for the app or the IDE.
Per project in .opencode/skills/<name>/SKILL.md and globally in ~/.config/opencode/skills/<name>/SKILL.md. It also reads .claude/skills and .agents/skills, both in the project and in your home folder.
Create a folder named after the skill and put its SKILL.md inside (name must match the folder, plus a description).
The documentation describes no install command: you add a skill by copying its folder.
Since it reads ~/.claude/skills and ~/.agents/skills, a loose skill you already keep there shows up too.
Per project in ./.grok/skills/ (searched up to the repo root) and globally in ~/.grok/skills/. It also reads ~/.agents/skills/, and you can add paths under [skills] paths in ~/.grok/config.toml.
Single skill: copy its folder (with SKILL.md inside) to one of the paths above.
Inside the TUI, open the extensions panel with /skills (or /plugins) to view and manage what is installed.
Plugins install from the TUI Marketplace tab or with the --plugin-dir <path> flag.
The documentation gives no shell commands to install skills; the steps are TUI-based or copying the folder.
A development methodology made of skills that trigger on their own: it first asks what you want to build, then writes an implementation plan and runs it with subagents that review their own work.
Anthropic's official repo with example skills (art, design, web app testing, MCP servers, communications) and the docx, pdf, pptx and xlsx document skills. The license varies by skill.
Makes the agent think like a lazy senior developer: before writing code it checks what already exists in the repo and solves it with the least. In Claude Code it adds /ponytail commands and a band showing each task's cost.
Garry Tan's Claude Code setup: 23 role-based tools (CEO, designer, engineering manager, QA, release) used as commands such as /office-hours or /retro. Its README marks Codex and the Antigravity CLI as experimental.
The design-taste-frontend skill gives the agent art direction: reference images and a browser check to avoid generic AI pages. Needs Node 22 or newer and Chrome, Edge or Chromium.
A design vocabulary for your agent: commands like polish and bolder to steer, critique to review, and a detector (npx impeccable detect) for generic UI patterns.
Analyzes your project with a set of agents and builds a knowledge graph of the code you can explore, search and ask questions about. In Codex you invoke it with $ instead of /.
A library of skills for scientific research with access to scientific databases. It follows the open Agent Skills standard and its README lists Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity as compatible.
A phased security audit: reconnaissance, coverage-led hunting, candidate validation and a report with independently verified findings. It is the skill Cloudflare's vulnerability-discovery harness grew from.
Vercel skills: react-best-practices (performance rules for React and Next.js), vercel-optimize (cost and performance audit of a Vercel project) and a deploy skill.
A library of skills and plugins by domain (engineering, product, marketing, leadership, regulatory) for Claude Code that, per its README, also works in Codex and Gemini CLI.
A catalog of Codex skills, with a curated folder and an experimental one. OpenAI marked this repo as deprecated and points to openai/plugins for current examples.
An HTML-native design skill: describe a website, prototype, editable PPTX deck, animation or infographic and the agent proposes several candidates from a style library. Its README is in Chinese.
20+ skills for daily work with agents (Claude Code, Codex), such as cover images, article illustrations and WeChat publishing. Its README warns you to install only the ones you use.
An SEO plugin for Claude Code: technical audits, visibility in AI search (GEO), schema and more, through the /seo command. Needs Claude Code 1.0.33 or newer; run /seo setup once.
Product promo videos with Remotion: you say "make a promo for my product" and the agent captures your real pages, picks the shots and builds an editable video.
Skills for the Hugging Face ecosystem: the hf CLI, datasets, TRL training, model evaluation and Gradio demos. Its README lists Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Cursor as compatible.
Google's official skills for building with the Gemini API: general development, the real-time Live API and a Gemini Omni video skill. Its README says they come bundled with Antigravity.
Best practices, patterns and examples for math animations with Manim Community Edition and ManimGL (3Blue1Brown's version). Requires installing Manim, FFmpeg and LaTeX.
